Relocating Ladybugs

It's been another interesting day. I always check the garden and feed the goldfish before it gets too hot.  A few days ago, I saw the tiny eggs on the eggplants, but I didn't have the energy or inclination to do anything. I checked them again today...and to my surprise, the eggs had morphed into voracious eating machines ~ little lady bugs. Well that presented a dilemma ... I LOVE ladybugs, and eggplant. It seems ladybugs love eggplant too.  I didn't want to kill them, but I want my plant to survive without pesticides.  So, I armed myself with a pair of scissors and cut off leaves and parts of

leaves and re-located the ladybug babies.  I hope they like weeds, errr....wildflowers♥

Meanwhile, back at the rock ... the deer family are stopping by frequently and Spooky Cub has been seen a few times in the week since I've been back home.  The trail cam is going in for repair but another one is on the way. I'm addicted to seeing what goes on when I'm not here!!

Shadow must be hungry 'cuz he's biting my ankles and "meowing", so I'd better hurry up with this. I'll do better next time...

  1. Aren't ladybugs just wonderful? Amara and I happened on a fence full of them one day -- in various stages of pupa and empty pupa shells! It was so fun to watch and to watch her watch them!
